The Great Weight Loss Experiment It doesn't take a genius to figure out that dieting doesn't work. I mean, look around you! Americans have become obsessed with weight loss and yet we are only getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Have you ever stopped to ask, "why?" We have! And that is what has led us to finally put together a completely different kind of weight loss experience—one that addresses the underlying causes of weight. We no longer believe that weight problems are about food. Rather, we think it is about how we THINK about food. It is about how we think about ourselves and our history. It is about learning how to love ourselves and live out our destinies. It is about reprogramming our relationship with food, and with our history, and with ourselves. It is much, much bigger than food and diet and exercise and we are here to prove that! I mean if it were really about diet and exercise, wouldn't we all be thin by now? Who are we? We are Deborah Lindsey and Mary Phelan. Both Mary and I have experienced weight issues our whole life which is what makes us the perfect leaders for this very exciting project. (Don't you hate it when some tiny little thing who has never been a pound overweight acts as if they actually KNOW SOMETHING about what its like to have a weight issue?) We are also both students and teachers of metaphysical philosophies and processes. We are both trained EFT practitioners and trainers and we are both trained and experienced hypnotists. As "heavy" people, we know what it is like to be overweight and we have both spent a lifetime learning what doesn't work, which, we believe, has finally brought us to an understanding of what DOES WORK. And this is our opportunity to put it all together and test it out in the real world. Our Philosophy Our philosophy is simple. We think that people have been engaging what is called "The Law of Attraction" on a massive scale but we have been using it backwards! All of the energy that we have been using to lose weight has actually been backfiring. It has been CAUSING us to GAIN weight. So what we are saying is, well, dieting has made us fat! You see the Law of Attraction (which is a basic scientific tenant of the universe) says that we will attract what we are thinking about, especially if we are thinking about it with the fuel of emotion (you know like shame, guilt, worry, desperation...) You see our thoughts are things....they are vibrations that go out in the universe and ultimately come back to us as our reality. Simply put, the more you think about how fat you are, the fatter you become. And the fatter you body become, the more you desperately want to lose weight and the more negative emotions you emit into the universe. It becomes a vicious cycle. Ultimately, this is much more complicated than it sounds but over the course of the week you are going to learn what it all means and how to turn this around. And the great news is that we are going to do it in the power of a group which is such a great thing. You see, weight gain has become so prevalent in society that we are actually battling the thoughts and beliefs of everyone around us! This makes it almost impossible to make the change on your own and makes a group event very powerful. How are we going to do this? Our goal is to change the way we are vibrating. Now I know that sounds silly, but it is very real thing. Instead of thinking, I "don't want to be fat", we want you vibrating health, happiness, and beauty. Do you see the difference? This simple change is vibration is the turning point between gaining weight and creating your optimal body. In order to do this, we are going to employ some very powerful and proven techniques. These techniques include The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Hypnosis, Mindful Eating, Mastermind, Visualization, NLP, Affirmations, and Allergy Elimination Technique. You are also going to learn the power of your mind but learning how to "Bend a Spoon With Your Mind." While these techniques may be foreign to you now, they will not be for long. It is important to know that each of these techniques is simple, safe, easy to do, and very powerful. Moreover, you will be able to take them home with you so that even after you leave you can continue to maintain these practices in your daily life and ultimately inspire others to do the same. The Techniques Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) EFT, also known as "Energy Tapping" is an amazing process of tapping on acupuncture points on the body while focusing on a problem. By doing this, you eliminate the disruption in the body related to that memory or issue and the problem just sort of disappears. It is a simple, painless, and very powerful process that is used widely for dealing with the underlying emotional problems related to weight. It can curb addictions and the underlying anxiety that leads to addictions. It can knock out a craving in only minutes and it can also deal with the underlying beliefs and histories that often plague people with food addictions. It can also be used to speed up the metabolism. Perhaps the best part of EFT, beyond the fact that it is painless, works immediately and produces permanent results, is that virtually anyone can do it AND once you learn the technique it is a tool that you take with you for use in your daily life. Hypnosis Hypnosis, which is little more than a relaxed state of hyper-suggestibility, is a scientifically verified and effective technique that can be used to promote accelerated human change. This state of hyper-suggestibility is actually common and most people enter a hyper-suggestive state several times a day without even knowing it. (Examples include sleeping, driving, watching TV). With Hypnosis we are working to disrupt unhealthy thought patterns and reprogram the subconscious with helpful and healthy new patterns of thought. It is a proven and highly successful technique for weight loss, particularly when it is repeated on a regular or consistent basis. Mindful Eating Mindfulness is described as the "awareness of self without judgment." Have you ever noticed how people think about food all of the time and yet when they finally get to eat they wolf it down without even paying attention? Have you ever wondered why that is? At the Great Weight Loss Experiment, it is our intention to disrupt that old pattern by implementing "Mindfulness Eating." It is based on the belief that food isn't our enemy. Food, is, in fact, our friend. It nourishes our body and it keeps us alive. We are very fortunate to live in a time and place where food is so plentiful that we CAN be "overweight". And so we want to slow down and enjoy the food. And we want to do it without judgment. It is time that we begin to change the way we think about food and the thoughts that we tell our body about food. So in this case, we are planning to eat our food Mindfully, which means "to observe ourselves eating without judgment." Masterminding Masterminding is based on the idea that "when two or more are gathered in my name, I am there also." It was first popularized in the 1930's by Napoleon Hill in his book, "Think and Grow Rich." Since then, it has been used by millions of people around the world to achieve goals and solve problems. It works ... because the combined energies of two or more like-minded persons working together for each other is many, many times greater than the sum of the individual energies involved. It is also about sharing ideas in a atmosphere of collaboration and harmony. Throughout the week, we will break up into Mastermind teams which will work within a systemized process to focus on our goals and help to create the lives of our dreams. It is intended that these Mastermind teams will last even after you go home as another way of growing and implementing the teachings. Visualization We all know that you can't get somewhere without a map but few of us realize that to create a perfect body we have to first know what that looks like. And we have to be comfortable in it and love it. This is a powerful and often overlooked part of the weight loss process. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Words are very powerful. They can be used to create the outcome of your desire or to sabotage your own success. And often words are overlooked as unimportant and powerless. We couldn't disagree more. We will be helping you to recognize words that are blocking your success and turn them around to reprogram your life. Affirmations Many people have heard how Louise Hay actually used affirmations to cure herself of cancer. And since then, she has used the power of words and affirmations to change the world. What many of us don't realize is that WE HEAR OUR OWN WORDS. And our body reacts to them. So we are going to use the power of words through affirmations to consciously reprogram our subconscious mind to help us to create a new, beautiful body in practically no time at all! Allergy Elimination Technique Many people theorize that excess weight is caused by allergies. We believe that our negative thoughts combined with our negative emotions have worked to teach our subconscious mind that food is the enemy. Once it believes food is the enemy, it works to protect us by storing the offensive foods as fat in the body. So with that in mind, we are going to teach you a very easy technique that will allow you to test your body for allergies and subsequently eliminate them in just minutes.
