Reiki Reiki is a powerful, precise system of healing that is believed to have originated in Tibet thousands of years ago. It accesses universal life force energy to promote healing in all living things on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. The Reiki Master and Reiki Practitioner channels this healing energy through their hands into your body to balance your electromagnetic fields. Reiki is both powerful and gentle. It can be used for everything and anything that needs healing. In its long history of use it has aided in healing virtually every known illness and injury including serious problems. Reiki is beneficial and works to improve the effectiveness of all other types of therapy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance and has many benefits including altered states of consciousness and spiritual experiences. Reiki will help improve the results of all medical treatment, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time, reduce or help eliminate pain and stress. At the Self-Health and Awareness Center, we are trained in different types of reiki including Usui Reiki (Japanese Reiki) and Maheo'o (Native American). We often integrate reiki healing in with other modalities to offer a calming, balancing affect. Joe also offers Usui Reiki initiations and training.
