 The International Metaphysical University (IMU) is an online university that is dedicated to "exploring consciousness through education." At IMU, you can work according to your own schedule! Never again will you have to wait until "next semester" to get started! At IMU, we do everything we can to streamline the educational experience and remove all barriers to success! Through open enrollment, ALL STUDENTS are welcome! No stringent application process! And you can start any day you want and work at your own pace. Once you enter a course you have 12 weeks to complete it.
How Do Courses Work?
 All of our courses are based on audio or video recordings. You can watch or listen to the course as if you were in the room with the instructor, but you do it from your place at choice at at your time of choice! You can also submit your homework assignments and take your tests online. In most cases, you'll know how you fared on your tests almost immediately!
How Much Does it Cost?
As an online school, IMU is able to keep our prices lower than most traditional brick and mortar schools. We don't have huge overhead. This allows us to offer courses at the very reasonable rate of $100 per credit hour! This makes our 3-credit courses only $300. At this rate, an Associates Degree is only $6,000 and a Bachelor's degree is only $13,200! When you consider that the average Bachelors Degree in the United States tops $250,000, you can see what a fair price it is!
Do you Offer Financial Aid?
At present, IMU is a pay-as-you go school. We do, however, offer reasonable payment plans that start as low as $103 per month. This makes it possible for anyone who is serious about getting an eduction to finance as you go. The great news is that at present we offer our financing at 0% interest! This is not necessarily going to last forever, but it is available for students who sign up before November of 2010. The other great news is that you will graduate debt-free!
Are you Accredited?
When people ask this question they really asking a couple of things. First they are asking, "Are you a real college? Am I getting a "real" education?" These are fair questions indeed as there are certainly lots of diploma mills out there nowadays willing to give you a diploma for a couple of bucks. IMU, however, is a full-fledged university set up under the same parameters as mainstream colleges. You will have to work to get your degree! And yes, your education is indeed "real". You will be learning from some of the very best instructors in the world! This is something that is hard to find anywhere!
The second thing they are asking is "Can I transfer my credits to other universities?" The answer to this, at least for the time being, is no. Until we reach mainstream accreditation, our credits will not transfer. We do, however, accept credits from other accredited universities at this time.
The third question is, "Can I get financial aid?" The answer here can be found in the previous question. No, we do not yet offer financial aid. We are, however, open to donations from outside individuals who would like to make this possible. If you know of any, send them our way!
Finally, we should state that we have every intention of seeking mainstream accreditation. We will qualify to begin the process as early as November of 2010 if everything goes as plans. Everything at IMU has been set up according to accreditation standards and we have every intention of accomplishing this goal if it is at all possible. That being said, we are unable to guarantee that we will make it through this process.
What Can I Do With a Degree from IMU?
The cornerstone of any great education is love. The thing you have to ask when deciding on a degree is "what do I love?" For love is the basis of success in all things! If you love accounting, then get a degree in accounting! If you love business, well, get a degree in business! But if accounting or business bore you silly, but you LOVE to do healing work, then then get a degree in Energy and Alternative Medicine! Or if you LOVE the idea of being a psychic reader, then get a degree in Intuitive Arts! You get the point! If you follow what you love, the universe will supply you with opportunities that you might not have dreamt possible!
Degrees at IMU are much like any liberal arts degree. What do you do with a degree in Theology or Philosophy or History or English? These are degrees that develop the PERSON more than they develop a specific skill. As a result, they can go out into the world and accomplish a wide variety of things.
All of the programs at IMU are grounded in real world application. For instance, if you take a degree in Ufology, you will be trained in how to coach abductees and how to do a field investigation. If you take a certification in Paranormal Investigation, you will know how to conduct a safe and successful ghost hunt. And you will know how to make a business out of it. Each of the programs offers professional development courses that add a practical edge to all of these cutting-edge degrees.
